Chris (aged 53) international tennis coach, Kerry (aged 53) upcycles furniture. From Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
The Clarke family are hoping to cook more for their son Charlie, who’s in his 20s, and Kerry, is determined to get back to full health after undergoing chemotherapy.
Chris and Kerry have been married for 25 years, with Chris’ job in tennis taking him abroad for long periods of time. The couple admit they haven’t cooked at home in 15 years, eating out for every single meal including breakfast.
The Clarke’s rotate the same few dishes including pre-packed pasta, chicken and salad, and live mostly with an empty fridge. Meanwhile their 26 year-old son Charlie is a keen cook, and despairs at his parents’ inability to prepare meals.
For health reasons and the desire for a better diet, the Clarke’s welcome Tom’s help in the kitchen. Chris, a cooking novice rises to the challenge, and Kerry’s energy following her second round of chemotherapy for breast cancer, returns with the added benefit of a healthier balanced diet. Kerry has now returned to rowing and has introduced to the Loveday and Bowell Harris families to her favourite sport.
The Clarkes feature in episodes 1, 4 and 5.
